I’ve lived in Connecticut all my life and moved to the Northwest Hills about 20 years ago with my husband John. When traveling, I enjoy exploring smaller towns & cities to experience and savor the local cultures and people. I also love working with plants and in our garden, and on our beautiful Victorian home.
My favorite destination is Costa Rica! I’ve driven through much of the northern countryside and experienced a marvelous mixture of charming local folks and diverse cultures, unique flora and incredible wildlife. Accommodations ranging from the magnificent Four Seasons Papagayo to the secluded eco-lodge of El Silencio, there’s a perfect option for everyone!
A very special walk is on Crescent Beach, Block Island, RI, a perfect local getaway. Staying in the old Surf/new BI Beach House, overlooking Old Town on one side and the beach on the other, with a great restaurant too, the island makes for a terrific long weekend!
I’ve always enjoyed traveling, beginning with driving coast-to-coast on the Blue Highways of America and Canada, followed by several months backpacking through a dozen European countries, all before realizing I had to get into the business! In 1985, I started my travel career working for a small family-owned travel company for 20 + years before finding my home at VWT’s family business 11 years ago, and where I look forward to spending the next 20 + years!
