I am passionate about travel, and joined Valerie Wilson Travel so I can help others plan unique vacations, holidays, and experiences with their families and loved ones. I previously worked at several luxury magazines, including Town & Country and Town & Country Travel. This experience fueled my interest in travel even more, and provided me with unique insight and knowledge of special destinations all over the world that I now use to serve my clients.
I love to travel and have so many favorite places! If I had to pick one, I would have to say the Amalfi Coast in Southern Italy. I visited the San Pietro hotel near Positano for my 10th wedding anniversary, and I instantly fell in love with the beauty of the landscape, the cuisine and the people. The hotel is carved discreetly into the cliffside, with incredible views of the Amalfi coastline and Mediterranean Sea. Every room is unique: a combination of understated luxury, intricate detail, and original design.
Perhaps not so hidden, my favorite hotel in London is the Belmond Cadogan located between the shopping of Knightsbridge and the artistic heart of Chelsea, full of trendy boutiques, restaurants, and drinking spots. This is a luxury property in every sense, but retains intimacy with only 54 rooms and suites and an incredible staff. Added bonus – guests can access the beautiful private gardens and tennis courts directly across the street.
After traveling Europe during my college years, I became even more interested in seeing and learning about new places. I have explored the US extensively, enjoying from coast to coast. Some of my favorite trips in the US have been to Southern California, Florida, Utah and Montana. I have enjoyed tropical destinations as well, including many in Mexico and the Caribbean. I especially enjoyed my trips to Central America – Belize is a special place and Costa Rica is incredible. My husband and I also travel to Europe every summer. Greece was my most recent destination – beautiful and so much fun! When traveling, I love to explore new neighborhoods, shops, and restaurants. When I was recently in Paris, my daughter and I really captured the true Parisian experience by taking a bespoke ‘shopping tour’ and a private lesson to bake macaroons. Although I think it’s important to see major tourist attractions and museums, the highlights for me are finding some special activities and attractions tailored to our interests.
