About Me

I was born in the Transylvanian region of Romania and came to the US in 1982 with my family. Growing up, every summer vacation my parents would send me home to visit my family and I loved the thrill of traveling so much, it stuck with me permanently. As soon as I graduated high school, I knew I wanted to be in the travel business. Working for American Airlines gave me the opportunity to visit many, many destinations and I continue that now with my amazing husband. My 2 favorite kinds of vacations are Caribbean beach getaways and adventure/hiking destinations. I always look for anything off the beaten path whether that’s in hiking, strolling, driving around or looking for restaurants.

Favorite Place

In my homeland Romania there is a town called Sighisoara located in the Transylvanian Region. It still stands as one of the most beautiful and best-preserved medieval towns in Europe. Today it is designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This perfectly intact 16th century gem has quaint cobbled stoned streets, colorful houses, and ornate churches. In addition, it is also the birthplace of Vlad Dracula, also known as Vlad Tepes (Vlad the Impaler), who ruled from 1456 to 1462. It was he who inspired Bram Stoker’s fictional creation, Count Dracula.

Hidden Gem

the Island of Amorgos in Greece is one of the hidden gems of the Cyclades islands. Untouched by mass tourism, Amorgos is the perfect holiday destination for those who seek privacy and tranquility. This island boasts hiking trails that cross the island and beautiful secluded beaches that are ideal for naturists! Chora Amorgos, the island’s capital, is one of the most beautiful villages in Amorgos. It is located in the center of the island. Wandering in Chora Amorgos, you’ll come across traditional whitewashed houses with colorful shutters, narrow alleys, embellished with flowers, beautiful churches and little taverns. Lastly, the food is outstanding

Experience

I started my career in 1999 at LaGuardia Airport working as a ticket agent for American Airlines. The 6 years I experienced at LGA were truly the most gratifying of all my years in this business. Eventually I transitioned an agency environment. Since then I have worked on groups and corporate events. I joined Valerie Wilson Travel in 2016 and have been part of the House Corporate Team working on all types of accounts. Recently I have also been assisting on the newly created Executive Service desk.
