The Property

Ideally located a few steps from St. Mark’s Square and the famous Palazzo dei Dogi in the very heart of Venice, Baglioni Hotel Luna is a short distance from the city’s most famous historical attractions. A private landing stage allows guests to arrive straight to the hotel’s elegant entrance by gondolas or water taxi. This historic Venetian hotel dates back to the 12th Century, and it is recorded as having given shelter to the Knights Templar in 1118. In 1574 it was already known as Locanda della Luna. During the 18th Century, the building was decorated with frescoes by Pupils of Giambattista Tiepolo, which now adorn the elegant Marco Polo Ballroom, where breakfast is served. Enchanting frescoes, antique furniture and imposing crystal chandeliers adorn the foyer and the public rooms. One of the best city restaurant highly appreciated by tourists and the Venetians is the Canova Restaurant, where guests can enjoy traditional Venetian and regional specialties. The most exclusive Suites, including the brand new San Giorgio Terrace Suite, feature large private terraces with magnificent views of the San Giorgio Island and St. Mark’s Basin.
